Massive hosts an art exhibition
We’re just arting about
With a full body denim suit in one corner, and art-throb Fergus the Ram in the other, Massive held an art exhibition last week to celebrate Massey artists who have featured in our pages.
The event launched the annual ‘Art’ themed edition, showing off four centrefold competition winners, and a cover artist.
The event and edition was led by Massive’s designer, Luka Maresca, who was excited to celebrate everyone whose been part of the magazine this year.
“A lot of our staff are graduating or moving on next year, including myself, so it was really lovely to celebrate our creative team before Massive moves into a new era.”
The opening night last Monday drew a crowd at Fishcube Gallery, directed by Massey design grad Nilita Dobhal, bringing the Massey energy down onto Wellington centre city.
Luka loved being able to play around in such a big space. “Being able to see all our work laid out in such an open space was really gratifying, especially because we usually only get to see it inside the magazine.”
“Displaying work in a gallery isn’t something you get to do very often in student media.”
Massive photographer Georgia Andersen got major wall space with many cover shoots. And illustrators Olive Bartlett-Mowat and Tara Griz also brought colour, with prints of all their best from the mag.
