New Rainbow Postgraduate Scholarships open for applications

Two scholarships, each valued at $4,000, will be awarded to students enrolling in postgraduate study at Massey next year.

Students will be either working on rainbow-related research or with a demonstrable passion for and commitment to takatāpui and rainbow inclusion.

Massey’s diversity and inclusion advisor, Connor McLeod, said postgraduate study offers a powerful platform to explore and elevate takatāpui and rainbow-centred research.

“These scholarships affirm the value of community voices, stories, and research. By supporting students through these scholarships, we are helping create futures where our communities are better supported and empowered.”

Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Students and Global Engagement, Tere McGonagle-Daly said, "These scholarships recognise the vital contributions our students make through their research and advocacy”.

The scholarships were created in partnership with Rainbow New Zealand Charitable Trust, who will administrate the application process.

This initiative follows Massey’s recognition at the 2024 Rainbow Excellence Awards.

Applications are open now and will close October 31st.
