Massey Wellington students can look forward to a once in a lifetime experience at the upcoming ball.
Friday, July 28 will see hundreds of students flood into Shed 6 on Wellington’s waterfront for the MAWSA Wellington Students Ball.
The ball, organised by Massey Wellington Students’ Association (MAWSA) will offer students the chance to enjoy a Hollywood-esque night, different to any other ball held previously by the association.
The one-night-only event is spearheaded by MAWSA’s events co-ordinator Kalum Murray, who says that it will be an opportunity for students to have fun, celebrate the year so far and look after each other.
A large team of volunteers is already working hard behind the scenes to help get everything ready, and more than 250 tickets have been sold to eager students.
Murray says they have chosen not to focus on a specific theme this year to encourage students to focus on the experience of the night. He says he believes this will take the ball “to the next level”.
This year they have also decided to hold one ball as opposed to two balls as students may remember from previous years.
Doors will open at 8pm on the night of the ball, with the opportunity for photos on a red carpet upon entry, followed by a hip hop performance and a live DJ set.
There will also be photobooths, food, a jazz band and a videographer who will put together a highlights reel.
Murray encourages all students to get their tickets early.
“This night will be a great night for everyone,” he says.
