Ball promises champagne and moonlight dancing

Students from Massey’s Albany campus are invited to dance the night away under the moonlight for this year’s ball.

Albany Students’ Association (ASA) President Lance Walsh says this year’s ball will take place at the Maritime Room on the Viaduct in Auckland’s CBD on Saturday, August 26.

He says the theme for this year is ‘Maritime by Moonlight’.

“It’s a dreamy-night kind of ball,” Walsh says. “We are expecting around 300 to 400 students.”

“It’s a great opportunity to dress up and go out, especially if you have a partner or a group of friends wanting to go,” he says. “It’s also an opportunity to experience a great night.”

ASA’s Administration Vice President Rachael Cox is helping organise this years event.

She says while the $85 price tag may seem steep to some, she has not received any complaints from any students.

“We looked back on previous ball surveys and students were keen to pay a little more for a nice venue and night out.

“The $85 covers your entry into the ball, cocktail nibbles, and students will also receive a drink on entry, as well as the ability to download all images for free from the night without a watermark.”

Cox encouraged everyone to come along.

“Students should make the effort to come along to the ball, its such a great night to get dressed up and have a good time with your friends,” she says.

“We spend so much time stressed and caught up with assignments that we need that one night out to bring us back to ourselves.”
